Preserve Hazara culture and identity, create opportunities for community participation and stand alongside people whose voices need to be heard.

We bring generations together and build relationships with the wider Australian community through culture, connection and shared action.

A connected community where people feel proud of their roots, confident in their identity and able to shape their future. We want younger generations to inherit living traditions, a sense of belonging and a commitment to dignity for all.

Hazara Cultural Day brings our community together through music, performance and shared traditions, with contributions from members, artists and younger generations.

Through Refugee Week and cooperation with other communities, we celebrate diverse experiences and create opportunities for friendship and understanding.

The Hazara Genocide Memorial at Dandenong’s Drum Theatre brought the community together to remember lives lost and learn about the history of persecution experienced by Hazara people. An exhibition prepared by Bolaq supported this educational focus.

Sharing these histories helps younger generations understand their roots and carries the call for dignity and justice forward. HCA also joined a candlelight solidarity event supporting Hazara women in Herat, in cooperation with the Tajik community.

Our members contribute their time and skills to help people participate in community life and access information.

As reported at our 2026 AGM, the Census community support campaign assisted more than 1,500 community members. The campaign also raised awareness of Hazara identity and the importance of accurately representing that identity in Census information.

HCA raises issues affecting Hazara people through community representation and engagement with elected representatives at federal and state levels, including meetings in Canberra and Victoria.

We share community news, official statements and newsletters to keep people informed about our work, upcoming activities and matters affecting our community.

Member participation is central to HCA. Our Annual General Meeting provides an opportunity to review activities, recognise contributions and elect the committee.

At the 2026 AGM, members adopted a Code of Conduct and affirmed the importance of community voice, responsible leadership and cooperation across the Hazara community.
